Event Summary: With ~15 startups pitching and ~100 attendees, this event was a resounding success! It was great to learn about how scientists can become founders and how founders can flourish at IndieBio on the basis of their amazing ideas and transformative technologies.

Event Summary: This event also attracted additional panelists including the CEO of Bonneville Labs and the CEO of StartX and an entrepreneur from StartX. The eight (!) panelists provided practical advice and inspiring words to the roughly 35 grad students and especially post-docs drawn from Engineering, Medicine and Science. We are excited to collaborate with these amazing panelists again!

SBG Lunch Series: Lunch with Simon Greenwood, PhD, Director of Roche Venture Fund

Economics of Biotech with Leon Chen, PhD

The translation of basic biological and medical research to drug development is a complex transition involving the application of scientific principles to clinical and regulatory strategy in the context of varying business models. The most thoughts scientific discovery and development programs incorporate the a breadth of input from various aspect of the healthcare economic landscape. 

This seminar will explore the interplay between payers and providers, biotech and pharmaceutical companies and public and private financial markets and how they influence the science of drug discovery. We will discuss who the players are, how they are incentivized and how they influence drug discovery and development.
